The Force MDs formed in Staten Island in 1981, and included brothers Stevie D., Antoine "T.C.D." Lundy, and Rodney "Khalil" Lundy, along with their uncle Jessie Lee Daniels. Later two friends joined: "Trisco" Pearson and Charles "Mercury" Nelson.

They began performing in Times Square, on street corners, and on the Staten Island ferry. In collaboration with Dr. Rock they perfected their unique sound, a fusion of doo-wop and hip-hop that included signing, rapping, and "human beatbox" melodies.

The group produced a collection of R&B hits through the 1980s, with their most widely acclaimed tunes being "Tender Love" written by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and "Love is a House." They are considered major forerunners of the new jack swing movement. (Information courtesy of Wikipedia).
